Operational Specialist

Overview Duration: 6+ Months Rate: $83/hr on W2 Key Responsibilities Execute day to day VPP operations across deployed battery and HVAC integrated assets. Validate asset onboarding, activation, and readiness for participation in utility and grid services programs. Monitor real time system dashboards, telemetry, battery health, and HVAC coordination to ensure proper operation. Execute dispatch instructions in response to utility, ISO, or aggregator signals (e.g., OpenADR, API based events). Submit and manage demand response and grid services nominations in accordance with program schedules and requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related technical field and 5+ years of relevant experience. or Advanced degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience. Ability to travel up to 20% domestically. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), demand response programs, or distributed energy resources (DER). Familiarity with HVAC systems, battery storage, or energy management platforms. Experience working with utility programs, grid operations, telemetry, or settlement processes. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic operational environments. Ability to work effectively in cross functional teams and follow clearly defined operational governance models.
