Senior Accountant

Position Summary The Senior Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of a small, collaborative finance team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end closing, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare journal entries, including accruals and adjustments Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Own the update of actuals reporting and Amex/T&E reconciliations Own the reconciliations for Shopify, Amazon, Sysco, Faire, TikTok Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions as needed Maintain and update fixed asset/prepaid schedules and record depreciation/amortization Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reportsEnsure accuracy and completeness of financial data Support audits by preparing schedules and documentation Help improve/implement new accounting processes and internal controls Assist the controller with other ad hoc reporting Qualifications & Attributes Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a small to mid-sized CPG based company Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP knowledge preferred) Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Business Central, or similar) Exposure to full-cycle accounting processes Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Strong record of complex project management with multi-disciplinary teams Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across teams Ability to prioritize and effectively measure and drive for results in an entrepreneurial work environment Hippeasis an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
