The Opportunity

This is a meaningful, client-facing support role at the center of our criminal defense practice.

As a Criminal Defense Paralegal, you will work closely with two to three attorneys, helping them do what they do best: defend clients. You will keep cases organized and moving, ensure clients feel informed and supported, manage critical deadlines, and serve as a key point of coordination across the firm.

The attorneys here advocate in courtrooms. Your work makes that possible.

We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and genuinely committed to helping people navigate one of the most difficult experiences of their lives.

What You Will Do

• Open and manage new client files with accuracy and attention to detail
• Track case timelines and deadlines using firm systems and processes
• Communicate proactively with clients, providing updates and court date reminders
• Manage and organize discovery materials
• Assist with drafting, filing, and service of legal documents
• Coordinate with courts, prosecutors, and third parties
• Support attorneys in trial preparation, including exhibit organization and file readiness
• Maintain clean, organized, and current case files throughout each matter
• Collaborate with attorneys and team members in a positive, accountable environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior paralegal or legal support experience preferred, particularly in criminal defense, litigation, or a related area
• Familiarity with criminal court procedures and legal document preparation is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Tech-savvy and able to learn new systems quickly
