Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant in Ridgeland, MS.Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Apply cash and monitor incoming payments, including online payment systems
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Perform general ledger and bank reconciliations
• Generate and manipulate reports, including populating data across systems
• Issue payments, including manual check processing and claim payments
• Track and follow up on outstanding or unclaimed payments
• Support continuous process improvement initiatives

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 2-5 years of experience in a staff accountant or similar role
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, and accounting fundamentals
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to manage large data sets and multiple priorities
• Interest in process improvement and continuous learning
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
