BookkeeperLHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for a bookkeeper for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a client on the Southside of Richmond, Virginia. This role supports daily accounting, payroll, office administration, and client billing. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in QuickBooks Desktop, works independently, learns quickly, and manages competing priorities with accuracy.Key responsibilities include:Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records and general ledgersManage accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchase orders, and client billingPrepare financial statements, budgets, bank reconciliations, and audit documentationProcess biweekly payroll and occasional certified payroll reportsSupport tax filings, government licensing, and other compliance documentsComplete client prequalification forms containing confidential company informationCoordinate new-hire paperwork, benefits administration, and other office dutiesCommunicate with clients to confirm billing requirements and methods, including AIA, Textura, GC Pay, and ProcoreQualifications:Strong, hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Payroll is required; QuickBooks Enterprise experience is preferredAt least 5 years of office experience involving bookkeeping and customer serviceExperience with AIA billing, certified payroll, and purchase orders is preferredProficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelExcellent attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently, learn new systems quickly, and manage multiple prioritiesAssociate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred but not requiredPosition details:Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Contract pay: $25–$31 per hour, based on experiencePermanent salary: $60,000–$70,000 per yearReports directly to the ownerWork environment: In-office industrial settingBenefits:Medical coverage with employer contributionDental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance401(k) planPaid time off and five paid holidaysAdditional benefits available upon permanent hireCandidates must successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including a background check and drug screen.
