MICU Registered Nurse - Night Shift (3x12 Hours)

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with a night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) team. As a vital member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients with conditions such as sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, and multi-organ failure. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients while adhering to best practices in nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer care for patients with complex medical conditions.
• Monitor vital signs, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage cardiac drips.
• Provide care for ventilated patients and manage CRRT and ECMO.
• Perform patient assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive charting using the EPIC system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of critical care nursing experience required.
• Current New York State RN License is required in hand to submit.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS are mandatory.
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.

• Patient Age Groups: Adults and Geriatrics.
• Average Daily Census: 16 patients.
• Bed Capacity: 16 beds on the unit.
