Global Employment and Equity Compensation Attorney

Overview Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP is seeking an individual with 2‑4 years of experience to join our Global Employment, Immigration and Equity Compensation team within our Employment Law Group. The ideal candidate will be based in our New York or any California office. We are also open to considering Career Associates for this opportunity. Responsibilities Provide counsel on U.S. and global employment‑based and immigration matters. Conduct visa assessments and prepare and file employment‑based immigration petitions, including H‑1B, E‑3, L‑1, O‑1, TN, E‑2 and green‑card processes such as PERM. Advise clients on the employment lifecycle and prepare comparative overviews of international employment laws. Support the preparation of equity compensation overviews. Collaborate with top‑tier corporate clients across various industries. Assist in advising technology startups and multinational employers on nonimmigrant employment visas, permanent residence, employment immigration policies, compliance, and international HR issues such as hiring, policies and performance management. Qualifications Extensive experience advising clients on U.S. employment immigration. Hands‑on experience preparing and filing a high volume of employment‑based nonimmigrant and immigration visa petitions and addressing requests for further evidence with minimal supervision. Proven track record of advising multinational companies. Experience or willingness to learn global employment law and equity compensation counseling. Experience with global immigration law is a plus. Prior experience in a corporate immigration law firm is preferred. Must be a member of the California State Bar or New York State Bar, depending on office affiliation. Compensation and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is between $160,000 and $365,000. Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package wherever attorneys and staff work. The level of pay within the range depends on job‑related factors including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus based on firm and individual performance.
