People Business Partner

Compensation Range: $72,000.00 - $82,000.00 Plus Incentive Bonus based on Performance Location: 1301 S Lamar Blvd , Austin, Texas, 78704 The People Business Partner is responsible for aligning business objectives with teammates and leadership in our venues and support center. The position nurtures and formulates partnerships across the People function and the business to deliver value-added service to all teammates that reflects the business objectives of ADC. In addition, this role manages all aspects of Leave of Absence (LOA) administration, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws while supporting teammates and managers through the leave process. The People Business Partner maintains an effective level of business acumen aligned with Alamo's strategic plans, culture, and core values. This role serves as the first point of escalation for our teammates. This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and an advisor for both venue and support center teammates. Free movies & food Paid time off Competitive pay Flexible scheduling Medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, and voluntary benefits are available for all full-time and part-time teammates OUR MISSION: To Ensure EVERY Guest and Teammate Has An AWESOME Experience And Is EXCITED To Come Back CORE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES People Business Partner: Supports Venue and Support Center by engaging and partnering on all complex Teammate Relations issues, investigations, inquiries, concerns/questions, and provides guidance when appropriate Provides day-to-day performance management guidance and support - coaching & counseling, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and career development Works closely with leaders to improve working relationships and morale, and increase productivity and retention Identifies and analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the leaders to develop solutions, procedures, and policies Supports the talent review process and provides feedback to leaders to facilitate effective performance conversations. Interprets, develops, and launches appropriate Alamo policies based on organizational needs, direction, and/or federal, state, and local guidance and regulations Collaborates with venue leadership to identify areas for operational improvement and develop action plans for ongoing venue development, utilizing workforce survey data. Maintains in-depth knowledge of multi-state legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of teammates, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance Partners with the legal counsel as needed/required Works with GM and Director of Operations to complete performance evaluations and address the teammate engagement survey results Performs other related duties as assigned Leave of Absence Administration: Administers and tracks teammate leave requests in compliance with federal, state, and local laws (FMLA, ADA, PFML, etc.) Provides guidance to field leadership and teammates on leave eligibility, timelines, documentation requirements, and next steps, ensuring a clear understanding from all parties Provides timely notices to team members and maintains accurate leave records in the HRIS system Ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations Partners with management to coordinate return-to-work plans, including transitional duties, temporary/permanent restrictions, or accommodations under ADA guidelines Collaborates with payroll, benefits, and third-party administrators to ensure accurate pay and benefits continuation Develops and updates LOA policies, resources, and training materials for teammates and managers Provides empathetic yet business-aligned communication throughout the leave process, balancing operational demands with teammate needs QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred At least 3 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues in a hospitality or retail company At least 1-2 years of experience handling full-cycle Leave of Absence (LOA) claims, with knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws At least 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills - written and verbal Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent priority and time management practices, with the ability to be extremely detailed Occasional weekend and night availability for urgent Operational needs Experience working in a multi-unit, multi-state environment required (Currently located in CA, CO, FL, IL, MA, MN, NE, NY, NC, TX) Maintains knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and has the ability to interpret and apply them as appropriate, seeking outside counsel when needed OUR CORE VALUES: DO THE RIGHT THING We strive to be a force of good in our company, in our industry and in the world.
