Kitchen Director - Part-Time to Full-Time Opportunity

Starting Pay: $20.00/hour | Opportunity for Growth

A local nonprofit social services agency is seeking a Kitchen Director to oversee daily kitchen operations and help provide nutritious, quality meals to individuals and families in our community.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced food service professional who enjoys leading a team, staying organized, working hands-on, and making a meaningful impact in the community.

The position will begin part-time , with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position in January 2027 based on performance and organizational needs.

What You'll Do

• Oversee daily kitchen operations and supervise kitchen staff and cooks
• Plan, prepare, and oversee the service of nutritious meals
• Order and purchase food, supplies, and equipment as needed
• Maintain accurate inventory and expense records
• Track meals served and maintain documentation for monthly reporting
• Coordinate and utilize food and in-kind donations from local businesses and food banks
• Train and support kitchen staff and volunteers
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
• Ensure kitchen operations meet applicable health and safety standards
• Maintain required kitchen licenses, certifications, records, and reports
• Coordinate kitchen needs for special events
• Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance and equipment repairs
• Work closely with the Executive Director and leadership team
• Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• 2+ years of food service management or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to successfully pass required drug screening
• A positive, dependable, and community-minded attitude

Schedule


Part-Time to Start | Transition to Full-Time January 2027


Typical hours are Monday-Friday, approximately 7:15 AM-3:15 PM , with occasional flexibility or on-call availability as needed for special events and organizational needs.


Starting Wage: $20.00/hour
