Lead, Product Manager

Role Description

The Lead, Product Manager leads the strategy, discovery, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of products that advance EdReports' mission. This role owns products throughout the product lifecycle—from identifying opportunities and shaping new product concepts to optimizing and evolving existing products based on user needs, organizational priorities, research, and data.

Working closely with cross-functional partners, the Lead, Product Manager translates complex problems into clear product strategies, priorities, and measurable outcomes. This role specifically leads a portfolio of Research & Development (R&D) products that expand EdReports’ impact and strengthen how the field evaluates instructional quality.

Through user-centered design, evidence-based decision-making, and collaborative leadership, the Lead, Product Manager ensures EdReports delivers high-quality, impactful products that support educators and improve student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for one or more products or product portfolios.
• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities for new products and enhancements.
• Lead product discovery efforts by engaging stakeholders to understand needs.
• Translate research and user insights into product vision and requirements.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
• Analyze data to evaluate product performance and inform future decisions.
• Navigate ambiguity by framing complex problems and recommending strategies.
• Communicate product vision and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels.
• Serve as a trusted product thought partner and influence decision-making.
• Embed Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity principles throughout.
• Other relevant duties as assigned to support the organization's strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Passion for EdReports’ mission and commitment to Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible product management experience.
• Demonstrated success leading products through multiple phases of the product lifecycle.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
• Experience using product performance data and user research to prioritize work.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and build alignment.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong background in research-driven and user-centered design.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Residency in and authorization to work in the United States.

Requirements

• Experience creating new products from concept through launch.
• Experience in the education sector, nonprofit space, or related fields.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and iterative product development frameworks.
• Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams.
