Payroll & Benefits Coordinator

Position Overview We are seeking a highly organized, detail‑oriented Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to join our team. In this entry‑level role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and have seamless access to their benefits and leave programs. Working under the direct oversight and mentorship of the Senior Manager, Total Rewards, you will gain hands‑on experience across the entire spectrum of payroll, leave management, and benefits administration. Working closely with both the Finance and People Operations team, this is an ideal launchpad for an aspiring HR or finance professional who thrives on precision, loves helping people, and wants to build a strong foundation in Total Rewards. Key Responsibilities Payroll Support Assist with the bi‑weekly processing of company payroll, ensuring accuracy in hours worked, deductions, and tax withholdings Review and verify timesheet submissions, following up with employees and managers to resolve discrepancies Data entry for new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and direct deposit updates within the HRIS/payroll system Benefits Administration Help administer day‑to‑day employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and life insurance Assist with the onboarding of new hires into benefits systems and support the coordination of the annual Open Enrollment period Respond to day‑to‑day employee inquiries regarding benefits coverage, claims, and system navigation with a customer‑service mindset Leave Management & Compliance Support the administration of various leave programs (FMLA, short‑term/long‑term disability, parental leave, and PTO tracking) Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and ensure data integrity within our HRIS in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Assist with routine compliance tasks, audits, and reporting as directed by the Senior Manager Key Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) Experience: 0–2 years of experience, preferably with exposure to HR, payroll, or accounting Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and a laser‑focus on accuracy. You are someone who double‑checks your work naturally Foundational Knowledge: A general, high‑level understanding of payroll practices and employee benefits concepts Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Suite applications (particularly Excel/Sheets, where formulas and VLOOKUPs will be your best friends).
