INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER II

Job Title Section Chief – Telework Hybrid (Information Technology Manager II) Department & Location Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Sacramento, CA. This position may be performed through a hybrid telework arrangement. Salary $11,388.00 – $13,842.00 per month. Working Conditions Hybrid telework; limited weekend or off‑shift work may be required as needed. Responsibilities Lead multi‑disciplinary teams for critical IT projects within the Vehicle Registration Product Section. Provide high‑level administrative oversight for projects, ensuring alignment with DMV and State regulations, policies, and procedures. Manage workforce and succession planning, talent recruitment, and professional development initiatives. Modernize core business applications and implement new technology solutions to meet future needs. Guide project teams to achieve high efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure compliance with state law, rules, and policies. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in IT project management, procurement, contract management, and budgeting. Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, succession planning, and talent acquisition. Experience modernizing core business applications and implementing new technologies. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Desired Qualifications Experience with Agile methodology for software development. Leadership experience in large multidisciplinary organizations. Knowledge of state laws, rules, policies, and procedures related to IT and vehicle registration. Ability to make critical, timely decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
