Registered Nurse (RN) - Bone Marrow Transplant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) team. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of one year of inpatient medical-surgical oncology experience and hold chemotherapy certification. This role involves working with patients diagnosed with various hematologic malignancies and requires strong clinical skills in a mixed acuity setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing BMT and related therapies.
• Administer chemotherapy and manage potential side effects and complications.
• Monitor patient vitals and telemetry readings, interpreting dysrhythmias as needed.
• Manage central and peripheral lines, including PICC line care and blood product administration.
• Conduct patient assessments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Provide emotional and educational support to patients and their families.
• Participate in rapid response team initiatives and support procedures such as stem cell transplants.

• Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Required Qualifications

• Minimum one year of medical-surgical oncology nursing experience.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with computerized charting, specifically EPIC.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Unit Details

This unit focuses on providing care for patients receiving autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants, as well as CAR-T therapy. Nurses in this unit become proficient in managing complex patient needs and utilizing advanced treatment modalities.

Shift Information

This position requires a 12-hour night shift schedule, with rotations that may include both day and night assignments based on departmental needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every four weeks, though changes cannot be guaranteed.
