Accounts Payable SpecialistWill train on software (McLeod Software) but they also use QuickBooksWill be high volume, data entry, answering a lot of incoming calls regarding payment status and updates. Some vendors are disgruntled and the individual in this role must have thick skin. Must work cohesively with their internal team and have a traditional work ethic. Candidates who have worked in Ag, Construction, or other blue collar industries (as AP clerk) tend to do the best in this role.Job Summary The Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist is responsible for managing and processing the company's invoices and payments accurately and on time. This role ensures compliance with company policies, maintains vendor relationships, and supports accurate financial reporting.Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment requests accurately and timelyMatch invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents (2-way/3-way matching)Verify invoice accuracy, coding, approvals, and compliance with company policiesReconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or payment issuesMaintain accurate AP records and documentationRespond to vendor and internal inquiries professionally and promptlyAssist with month-end and year-end closing activitiesSupport audits by providing required documentation and explanationsEnsure compliance with accounting standards and internal controlsResolve purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.Perform other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
