Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass far more than therapy sessions focused on communication and swallowing disorders; you will become a vital part of unlocking potential, enhancing self-assurance, and fostering bonds among individuals from various backgrounds - from young children articulating their first words to older adults reclaiming their independence.
This role presents a unique chance to impact a diverse range of individuals, offering a blend of outpatient therapy while also occasionally providing inpatient support. Deliver tailored one-on-one speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to create seamless care plans.
Provide education and support to patients and families to encourage progress between sessions.
Support in the delivery of inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions from time to time, ensuring a smooth continuum of care throughout the patient's journey.
Ensure that documentation adheres to state, federal, and organizational guidelines through accurate and timely record-keeping.
Enhance your professional knowledge by actively engaging in continuing education and peer collaboration.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within the first 30 days of employment.
Thorough expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies for patients of all ages, with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired disorders related to speech, language, and swallowing.
Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Adept at adjusting therapy techniques to cater to wide-ranging cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Robust clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
Competency with electronic medical record systems and compliance with documentation standards.
Attractive and competitive salary based on experience.
Flexible scheduling options that promote a healthy work-life balance.
Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
Support for continuing education and professional growth.
Warm and collaborative team atmosphere centered on excellence in patient care and lifelong learning.
In this position, you will not just provide speech therapy; you will join a meaningful community goal of restoring lost voices, enhancing communication, and creating moments of happiness through the simple yet profound act of understanding one another.
As part of this team, you will work alongside colleagues who treat each other like family, all while fostering an environment that values collaboration over competition. Each patient brings a unique story; your insights will play a pivotal role in how that story unfolds.
