Position Details Position Title: Part‑Time Instructor of Journalism Classification Title: Part‑Time Instructors Position Type: Part Time Faculty College: Perimeter College Campus: College-wide About the Department The Humanities Department at Perimeter College delivers a top‑tier education and exceptional access to hands‑on experiences. The department is home to the disciplines of communication, humanities, journalism, philosophy, religious studies, and world languages, including American Sign Language. Our cadre of highly accomplished faculty not only prepare students for proficiency in their prospective fields, but also to be effective and engaged citizens who think critically. Position Description Perimeter College is seeking part‑time instructors in Journalism who will play a key role in educating and supporting students. Required Experience None specified. Required Education A minimum of a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) in Journalism. Preferred Qualifications/Experience Teaching experience preferred in face‑to‑face and asynchronous online classrooms. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to teach Journalism at the collegiate level Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods Ability to relate to students and facilitate student learning Effective communication skills Excellent organizational and teaching skills Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology Pre‑Employment Requirements A criminal background check is required. Work Hours Position may require non‑standard hours (including day, evening, online, hybrid, weekend and/or other campus locations). Salary $3,075 for each 3‑credit hour course taught.
