Position Title: CLIN NURSE 2 Department: MOP Special Procedures Worksite: Hillcrest (McGrath Outpatient Pavilion) Appointment Type: Career Appointment Percent: 100% Union: NX Contract Work Schedule: Days, 10-Hour Shifts, Monday - Friday The University of California San Diego Health is hiring a Clinical Nurse Level 2 (CLIN NURSE 2) in the MOP Special Procedures department. The role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic and other special procedures. Responsibilities Provide pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing care to patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. Administer moderate sedation under the physician’s direction and manage sedation safety protocols. Assess patient status, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate outcomes for diverse patient populations. Serve as a resource for nursing and technical staff and coordinate interdisciplinary care. Support patient safety, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance with institutional policies. Assist with pre-operative and recovery care for all procedure-suite patients. Minimum Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. RN license issued by the State of California. BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to obtain UCSD ART within six (6) months. Four (4) or more years of recent procedural experience in a setting with procedural suites or operating rooms and/or PACU or ICU RN experience. Certification to perform conscious sedation (Moderate Sedation Certification). Ability to care for patients undergoing fetal terminations. Experience working preop, intraop, and postop for procedures. Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills. Teamwork skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting. Preferred Qualifications BSN degree. Specialty certifications. Advanced certifications. Special Conditions Work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and at multiple locations as business needs dictate. May be floated to the McGrath Outpatient Pavilion OR side for support. Minor call requirements. Employment subject to criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council. Pay Range: $66.25 – $92.86 per hour (Hourly Equivalent). Annual Full Pay Range: $138,330 - $193,892. Employment Conditions Must disclose any misconduct within the last seven years or appeals against findings of misconduct.
