Medical Lab Scientist - Point of Care Testing

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday, with opportunities for additional hours.

Job Description

The Medical Lab Scientist will be responsible for performing Point of Care Testing and supporting lab operations at the facility. This role requires performing clerical duties as assigned by the Nursing and Lab Director.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance, quality control, and calibrations on analyzers and patient testing.
• Processing specimens including ordering tests, centrifuging specimens, and preparing send-outs for transport.
• Stocking lab supplies and routine cleaning of lab surfaces.
• Communicate professionally with clinical staff in the Emergency Department.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a full license, not associate-level.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MLS, CLS, MT) through ASCP or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience working in a Hospital Laboratory environment as an MLT or MLS.
• Experience with EPIC and analyzers such as Siemens Dimension, Sysmex, Roche, and Quidel is preferred.
