Communications Manager

Position Purpose

The Communications Manager is a key member of the Advancement Team, playing an important role in promoting HOPe's mission, programs, and fundraising initiatives through digital and traditional communications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities; other duties may be assigned as required.

• Content creation: As chief content creator, develop an annual content calendar and plan in collaboration with the chief advancement officer. Draft and produce monthly newsletter, website posts, and other vehicles to highlight organizational impact and promote HOPe to a variety of audiences
• Digital & Social Media: Manage all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, as well as the HOPe website. Design and implement platform-specific growth strategies and content plans to increase engagement and follower retention.
• Campaign Management: Contribute to the strategic design and execution of marketing campaigns that support annual giving, Giving Tuesday, and other fundraising efforts. Execute and project manage campaign timelines from conception to completion.
• Event support: Develop comprehensive promotional plans and timelines or advancement events. Create promotional materials and event collateral, as well as provide on-site support for advancement events and programs.
• Brand management: Serve as enforcer and educator of brand standards across the organization, ensuring all departments are aligned with HOPe's messaging strategy.
• Communications strategy: With the chief advancement officer, map out target audience personas to ensure tailored messaging across demographics. Lead regular editorial planning meetings to brainstorm stories and align communications with organizational milestones.
• Analytics: Track and report on key performance indicators to measure engagement and optimize future outreach; analyze trends to provide actionable recommendations and plan future outreach strategies.

Other Duties

• Occasional night or weekend work will be required to support Advancement events and meetings

Minimum Required Technical Skills and Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional experience in marketing or communications; experience with non profit or human services organizations preferred
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to create compelling content
• Demonstrated competency with social media platforms, particularly Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms and websites
• Proficiency with Google Suite and design tools like Canva; CRM experience preferred
• Basic graphic design, photography, and video capabilities would be a plus
• Project management mindset with a focus on details
• Stellar interpersonal and collaboration skills

Education/Certifications/Licensure

• Bachelor's Degree

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit and talk or hear, occasionally required to lift boxes weighing at least 20 lbs., and may use repetitive wrist and hand motions involved in sorting and handling documents.

House of Possibilities operates out of sites in Easton, Brockton, and Boston. This hybrid position will be based out of Easton, with the expectation of visiting the other branches as needed.
