Role Description

\n

We are seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager to join our team and support our continued growth. This is a hybrid engineering and construction management role. You will be responsible for the technical and logistical execution of projects, ensuring that our dynamic compaction methods meet rigorous geotechnical specifications while maintaining client satisfaction, schedule and budget.

Our projects average 1 to 2 months in duration, and you’ll manage up to 3 projects at a time. We’re a small, dedicated, nimble team - you’ll work with our leadership team, field superintendents, and clients in this role. You’ll report directly to the President as well as the VP of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities\n

Technical & Engineering

\n

●      Prepare technical work plans, proposals and develop pricing.

\n

●      Review and interpret CPT results, boring logs, and pore pressure dissipation data to ensure ground improvement meets design criteria.

\n

●      Oversee the deployment of automated seismographs to measure Peak Particle Velocity (PPV). You will interpret attenuation curves to ensure operations are safe for nearby structures.

\n

●      Work with clients and engineers to demonstrate how dynamic compaction can reduce or eliminate the need for expensive deep foundations or off-site soil removal.

Operational & Logistics

\n

●     Fleet Management: Coordinate the mobilization and logistics of our heavy equipment fleet.

\n

●     Production Tracking: Monitor daily production reports (drop counts, grid completion) to track project progress against the schedule.

\n

Project Management

\n

●      Estimating & Bidding: Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for incoming opportunities.

\n

●      Cost Control: Manage project costs, including coding labor and fuel to the correct phase codes for profitability tracking.

\n

Qualifications\n

●      Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

\n

●      Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Construction Management.

\n

●      Technical Skills: 3-5 years experience with AutoCAD® or similar software.

\n

●      Production Tracking: Monitor daily production reports (drop counts, grid completion) to track project progress against the schedule.

Compensation & Benefits\n

●      Salary: $140,000 - $170,000

●      Travel: This position will require frequent travel during the first 6 months to project sites across the country to oversee operations and meet with clients. After the first 6 months, travel would be more limited to day trips to job sites and up to two conferences per year.

●      Experience: Previous experience in geotechnical construction, deep foundations, or earthwork is highly preferred.
