Employment Specialist

Overview S:US is seeking an Employment Specialist for our Families with Children shelter located in Brooklyn, NY. Location: Brooklyn, NY Essential duties & responsibilities Familiar with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as they apply to the community residence program and agency policies. Provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Visits clients in their home and other settings required. Familiar with OMH regulations. Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services. Provides aid and assistance through all phases of the vocational service provision. Performing routine clinical services as a member of the Team. Responsible for charting client services. Responsible for creating the service plan (vocational portion or all). Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the team members. Responsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs change. Advocating for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possible. Responsible for creating a monthly spreadsheet with names of tenants and their employment status. Follow-up quarterly with all employed tenants. Assist with making monthly contact with tenants as needed. Participate in bi-weekly monthly meetings. Participate in monthly supervision to address any work-related tasks or concerns. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to assist adults of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
