Patient Service Rep II

$16 - $21 per hour

We have an opening for a Patient Service Representative (PSR) at Kaye OBGYN located in Cranford, NJ. Location: Cranford, NJ Patient Service Representative I The PSR I plays a vital role in delivering a seamless and positive experience for all patients. Serving as the initial and final point of contact for in‑office visitors and incoming callers, the PSR I provides exceptional customer service while managing front‑desk responsibilities such as scheduling, modifying appointments, responding to inquiries, and supporting daily administrative workflows. Essential Functions Greet patients and visitors professionally and courteously. Notify appropriate personnel to meet and escort patients to the exam room. Route phone calls promptly and professionally via direct transfer, paging, voicemail, or redirect as needed. Retrieve and appropriately route messages from the answering service. Screen solicitors for relevance to the care center’s needs. Perform registration functions for new or existing patients and activate patient files. Collect and record copayments as required. Verify patient insurance eligibility and communicate benefit limitations clearly. Assist with scheduling patient appointments and follow‑up visits. Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of patient encounters. Provide additional support to patients and medical staff as needed. Collaborate with clinical colleagues, management, and other staff to ensure efficient practice operations. Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies, including HIPAA & OSHA. Adhere to practice policies, procedures, and protocols. Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives. Demonstrate commitment to the organization’s mission, vision, and values by embodying its principles in daily activities. Actively contribute to a positive work environment that aligns with the organization’s goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication. Ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced environment. Compassionate and empathetic attitude toward patients. Strong time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and patients efficiently. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Highly adaptable and able to adjust to changing priorities and conditions. Willingness to work a flexible schedule and provide coverage at satellite locations, as needed. Experience and Education High School diploma or equivalent required. Medical Receptionist/Patient Service Representative experience preferred, but not required.
