Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

Schedule: Part-Time, Monday-Friday

Location: Grosse Pointe Woods, MI

The Front Desk Clerk serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, delivering exceptional customer service while managing critical administrative functions in a fast-paced outpatient infusion clinic. This role is essential to ensuring smooth clinic operations and positive patient experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patient Check-In & Documentation

 

• Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion, creating a positive first impression
• Efficiently check patients in and out while maintaining accurate records
• Collect and verify complete demographic information and necessary documentation

 

Authorization & Scheduling

 

• Obtain and verify insurance authorizations and precertifications to ensure seamless patient care
• Process medical record release requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments, managing the clinic calendar effectively

 

Financial & Administrative Operations

 

• Enter, review, and submit daily charges for patient procedures and services with accuracy
• Collect co-payments and process payments according to clinic protocols
• Reconcile daily reports and deposits to ensure financial accuracy and accountability
• Provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the assigned clinic area

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED  

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
• Medical office experience preferred
