Billing Support Representative

Responsibilities: OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY Supports the commercial and government billing/collections team by transmitting claims, downloading and preparing reports, updating management reports, processing hardcopy mail, medical record handling, projects and any other duties assigned by management. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs daily transmission of claims using the electronic billing system.
• Maintains current status on all management reports and completes them within the required timeframe.
• Mails necessary forms and/or medical records to third party payors in a timely manner.
• Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly billing reports by the required deadline and distributes these reports to appropriate personnel.
• Balances the variance report daily to ensure all transmissions have been received by the payors.
• Assists Supervisor or Leads with any special projects, accepting additional or new assignments with a positive attitude.
• Works the Mom/Baby combination report daily.
• Refers serious problems to supervisor.

Qualifications: KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

• One (1) year experience in billing, OR Associate's Degree in Business.
• Good verbal communication skills and basic typing ability.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

• B.S. degree in Business or Accounting.
• Two (2) years experience in insurance billing, or related area.
• Prior hospital or healthcare experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electronic billing systems.

Work Hours:: 6:00 am-2:45 pm
