Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager Our client, a high-growth AI technology company, is seeking an Accounting Manager to help build and scale its accounting function during an exciting period of expansion. Location: Menlo Park, CA. The position is hybrid, with in-office expectations 2-3 days/week. Job Description: This is a highly visible role that will partner closely with Finance leadership and play a key role in strengthening accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and is excited about helping establish scalable processes for a growing organization. This position follows a hybrid work schedule.Responsibilities:Lead month-end close activities, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial reporting Oversee revenue accounting processes, including review of customer agreements and revenue recognition documentation Manage core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll, and other operational accounting areas Prepare consolidated financial statements and ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers to support audits and compliance requirements Assist with regulatory and statutory reporting obligations Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal control processes Supervise and mentor accounting team members while supporting department growth and development Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, legal, and other business stakeholders Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred 5 years of accounting experience, including experience within a corporate accounting environment Strong understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles Experience managing accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Compensation: Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to:The individual’s skill sets, experience, and training; Licensure and certifications; Office location and other geographic considerations; Other business and organizational needs.
