Nursing Educator (RN), Full Time, NICU, Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center Morristown, NJ, United States. Job Description Responsible for assisting with the professional role development of members of the Nursing Department as well as the implementation of programs to improve the quality of care delivered. Principal Accountabilities Ensures all on-the-job training is consistent with established guidelines. Ensures that site trainers/preceptors have the knowledge, tools, and attitude to effectively train staff. Acts as both a formal and informal consultant, assisting with the integration of new learning into nursing practice and serving as a resource by assisting nurses in identifying problems, available educational resources, and selecting options. Works with the Operations team to identify changes that should be made in nursing practice and facilitate the initiation, adoption, and adaptation to change. Strives for excellence in patient care, self-monitoring, and ensuring patient safety. Identifies existing and potential problems and takes effective actions. Develops and maintains awareness of needed improvements in patient care, procedures, equipment and supplies and makes recommendations. Other relevant duties as assigned. Qualifications BSN required. BLS required. RNC certification required. Minimum of 3 years NICU experience as a Registered Nurse. Valid New Jersey Nursing License. Preferred Master's degree preferred. Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written. Patient, compassionate nature. Ability to operate as part of a team alongside physicians and nurses. Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems.
