Material Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: with the use of power industrial equipment, receives and stores in the designated locations materials and finished goods brought into the Packaging warehouse. Do the required inventory of product in house. Review schedules and match product and packaging needs. Order needed supplies from outside warehouse and assist Purchasing.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate powered fork trucks or pallet jacks to perform material handling duties.
• Stack, tier, transport for storage materials or finished goods.
• Load, unload, count, weigh, issue and return to stock materials or finished goods and record information on forms.
• Follow checklist procedures to inspect power equipment prior to each shift for problems. Report problems to Supervisor.
• Be trained and certified for safe and efficient use of all powered equipment used for material handling.
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations. Read labels and store materials as above safely in proper locations.
• Regular attendance on the job, dependability and reliability are required.
• Sense of ordinary care to prevent material losses or damages to product.
• Maintain equipment and immediate work area in neat and orderly manner.
• Perform other duties and special projects
• Receiving of raw and packaging materials. Including label and COA verifications.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take cycle counts on required products
• Organize, prepare and oversee inventories in Packaging facility
• Inventory product stored in outside warehouse
• Inventory corrugated supplies and match needs to upcoming schedule
• Make purchasing aware of any needed inventory Order corrugated, foil, bags, cans and etc from outside warehouse storage.
• Verify Material availability for all scheduled production runs
• Review schedule for errors in PAC codes and inform Controller of any to control inventory problems
• Assist Shipper/Receiver in ordering totes from Blending for upcoming runs
• Review label requirements with Label Maker Review labeled box needs with Labeler and assist with labeling if necessary to keep ahead of production.
• Receiving of incoming material and match to Purchase orders.
• Fill out supplier complaint forms for problem material received
• Keep close contact with supplier of corrugated concerning any problems that arise in corrugated received
• Assist in organizing and maintaining efficiency in the warehouse
• Reorganize available racking and floor space for new products
• Inspect racking and warehouse area for any potential safety hazards.
• Investigate new foil and send sample to QC and purchasing for their review.
• Load pallets from nights for Bondurant
• Load empty totes for Blending
• Order pallets from Bondurant as needed
• Regularly return partial rolls from production floor to correct locations
• Transfer raw brown sugar to production room racking. Remove A-tag and give to Anita.
• Cover production floor when material handler is on breaks.
• Assist QAD Specialist with indirect counts for month end. Month end help.
• Gather and tag hold products, move to specific location. Keep record of all hold items. Once approved to pitch, remove hold tag and pitch product both in QAD and physically.
• Any other duties required.
• Travel up to 10% between buildings.

• Work in normal manufacturing environment. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and dangerous chemicals/solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed.
