We embrace innovation and care about outcomes that are good for business, everyday life and making a better world creating lasting impact for everyone./ppThe role of the Machinist II follows standardized, pre-determined procedures to set up and operate computer numerical control and conventional work centers to machine a wide variety of standard and special component parts of average complexity which are utilized in the manufacturing of pneumatic cylinders./ppWork Environment: University Park, IL Onsite/ppSalary Range: $20.00-$26.00/hr with $2 shift differential/ppWithin this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable./ppKey Responsibilities:/pulliWorks at primary computer numerical work center on a regular basis to meet production-scheduling requirements. May occasionally cross train or work at additional work center(s)./liliInstall and adjust various types of tooling in the work centers./liliInsert computer programs into CNC work centers./liliCut, and/or position raw materials into machine center jaws/fixtures./liliProgress first piece through the initial run analyzing and making standard adjustments to tooling programs and operating parameters of work centers (speeds, feeds, basic MG codes, etc)./liliOperate work centers to perform progressive turning, drilling and tapping machine operations, which are of average complexity to produce stated quantities of component parts./liliMonitor ongoing operations through machine cycles, load and unload work centers as necessary on a concurrent basis./liliInspect parts for stated dimensions and surface imperfections./liliPerforms basic troubleshoot to identify problems affecting machining operations involving tooling, materials, work center and programs. Needs assistance from others to resolve./liliModify cutting tools as necessary./liliPrepare the required paperwork and place completed work in designated location./liliPerform preventative maintenance as required/liliNotify supervisory personnel of equipment and operating difficulties./liliMay assist train lower level machine positions./liliAttend 100% of safety training sessions./li/ulpCritical Competencies for Success:/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent/liliBasic math skills/liliBlueprint reading skills; technical training preferred/lili5+ years previous experience as an advanced Machine Operator on Lathes and Mills or 3 year advanced machine operator formal education in Machining and programming./li/ulpAt IMI, one of our top priorities is to create an inclusive culture of health.
