Litigation Associate

At a lot of firms, "handling your own cases" is something that happens to you around year eight. Here it's in the job description for a two year associate. You'll run matters yourself, with nationally recognized practitioners down the corridor rather than standing over your shoulder. The subject matter is the interesting end of litigation too: catastrophic property damage, product failures, construction defects, large losses where something has gone badly wrong and someone needs to work out why. Why this firm: $190k to $215k depending on experience, with the opportunity for a significant performance bonus Hybrid, with the ability to work remotely multiple days a week Meaningful responsibility early, while still working closely with nationally known litigators High exposure commercial, property damage, construction and product liability matters A practice that's growing in Los Angeles, hence the hire What you'll be doing: Managing complex commercial, property damage, construction and product liability matters Investigating claims arising from fires, explosions, floods, product and equipment failures and utility incidents Drafting pleadings, discovery, motions and briefs Taking and defending depositions and appearing at court hearings Participating in mediation, settlement negotiations and trial What you'll have: A minimum of two years of litigation experience Experience in commercial, construction, product liability or complex property damage litigation, ideally, with insurance experience a plus The ability to manage matters independently within a team based practice Admitted to The California Bar #J-18808-Ljbffr Distinct | North America
