Ticket Agent / Box Office Customer Service Representative

Job Description

Derby Dinner Playhouse is looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Ticket Agent / Box Office Customer Service Representative to join our team! This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, providing excellent customer service, and being part of a fun, fast-paced theatre environment.

As a Ticket Agent, you will be one of the first points of contact for our guests. You’ll assist customers with ticket purchases, reservations, questions, seating, and general information about performances and events at Derby Dinner Playhouse.

What You’ll Do

Provide friendly, professional customer service to theatre guests by phone and in person
Sell and process theatre tickets, reservations, and gift certificates
Assist customers with selecting performance dates, showtimes, and seating
Answer questions about shows, schedules, menus, pricing, parking, and theatre policies
Process cash, credit card, and other forms of payment accurately
Handle ticket changes, cancellations, exchanges, and customer requests
Assist guests with account and reservation questions
Maintain accurate customer and ticket information
Communicate clearly with customers and other Derby Dinner Playhouse departments
Help create a welcoming and positive experience for every guest
Keep the ticket office and customer service area organized and professional
Perform other box office and customer service duties as needed

Schedule & Hours

Part-time position
Approximately 20 hours per week during November–December
Shifts typically range from 4–8 hours , depending on business needs
Must be available to work between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday–Sunday
Availability may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Schedule will vary based on theatre performances and operational needs

Detail-oriented and accurate when handling reservations and payments
Able to communicate clearly and professionally
Comfortable answering phones and assisting multiple customers
Able to remain calm and professional in a busy environment
A team player who enjoys working with others
Available for a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings

Customer Service Experience Is a Plus!

Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, ticket sales, box office operations, reservations, theatre, restaurants, or front desk positions is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
