About the Role
The Company is in search of a Head of Preclinical Development with a focus on oncology. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and scientific leadership across the oncology portfolio, overseeing the development and execution of preclinical programs to support the progression of innovative therapies. This role involves close collaboration with various teams, including research, translational medicine, CMC, regulatory affairs, and clinical development, to build robust preclinical packages that enable informed development decisions and successful regulatory submissions. Key responsibilities include developing and executing preclinical development strategies, leading the design and interpretation of preclinical studies, driving programs through candidate selection and regulatory milestones, and managing external partnerships. Applicants for the Head of Preclinical Development position at the company should hold a PhD in a relevant life science discipline and have extensive experience in leading preclinical oncology programs within biotech or pharmaceutical organizations. The role requires a strong expertise in oncology models, translational pharmacology, and drug development strategy, as well as a proven track record of progressing therapeutic candidates from discovery through IND-enabling studies. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading multidisciplinary scientific teams, managing external collaborations, and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements for oncology drug development.
