If you're organized, attentive, and passionate about making a difference in the patient experience, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll DoWelcome and prepare patients for visits, document vital signs and measurements, and assist providers during examinations and procedures.Administer injections, perform EKGs, and collect laboratory specimens as directed by the provider and within the scope of the role.Support dialysis coordination, laboratory follow-ups, and patient education on kidney health, diet, and medication adherence.Process medication refill requests and prior authorizations according to provider protocols, and maintain medication sample records.Schedule appointments, diagnostic tests, and follow-up visits; verify insurance coverage, referrals, and authorizations.Maintain accurate patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.Respond to patient calls and inquiries, collect copays, and assist with billing questions and front desk coverage.Keep clinical spaces clean, organized, and stocked, and follow infection control, safety, and patient privacy requirements.Communicate patient concerns or changes to providers and collaborate with the team to improve care and service.RequirementsWhat You'll BringHigh school diploma or equivalent.Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.At least two years of experience in a physician's office or outpatient setting.Knowledge of medical terminology and nephrology-related conditions, including chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, and hypertension.Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.Strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.A compassionate, patient-focused approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control protocols.Ability to travel locally up to 20% of the time, as needed.Preferred QualificationsMedical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).Experience in nephrology, internal medicine, or chronic disease management.Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, strongly preferred.Associate degree.Work EnvironmentThis position involves direct patient interaction in a clinical setting, computer work, periods of sitting and standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
