Accountant

Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking an Accountant to join our client's team.

The Accountant is responsible for performing mid-level to complex accounting functions in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and statutory requirements. In addition, this role will participate in monthly close activities and will prepare internal and external reports.

Essential Duties:

• Prepares and posts moderately complex journal entries.
• Generates internal financial performance reports and narratives, creates adhoc reports, and validates data output.
• Performs account reconciliations and analyzes variances, including key drivers and trends.
• Processes and reports transactions in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Participates in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Participates in special projects within the division and cross functional teams.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement to achieve operational efficiency; researches alternatives and proposes recommendations to management.
• Identifies and researches problems; proactively proposes solutions.
• Assists with internal and external audit requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years with Bachelors degree in Accounting

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Strong organizational/time management and multi-tasking abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Oracle Financial or ERP software experience.
• Effectively coordinate work and communicate across functions and levels in the organization.
• Critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Experience: 4 years as a solid accountant working to become a Sr. Level Accountant with experience leading projects and working with multiple departments.
