Route Development Manager

Overview Our client, a leading player in the ocean freight sector, is seeking a Transatlantic Route Development Manager to drive business development and expand the trade lane between Europe and the United States. This role is North East based: NY, Boston, NJ preferred. Responsibilities Drive business development for the Transatlantic Trade Lane, identifying and securing new clients both locally and internationally. Develop and implement trade lane strategies, collaborating with internal sales teams and stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships with key country partners and industry stakeholders. Utilize CRM tools to track leads, manage client pipelines, and convert opportunities into business growth. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new business opportunities. Engage in regular client interactions, providing insights into trade lane trends and solutions. Cross-sell additional ocean freight services, including LCL (less-than-container load) and specialized container solutions. Travel internationally and domestically to strengthen market presence and drive sales. Ensure compliance with trade regulations and company logistics standards Qualifications / Ideal Candidate Profile 3+ years of sales experience in ocean freight and freight forwarding. Strong knowledge of Transatlantic trade lanes, with existing industry connections. Proven ability to develop and execute business development strategies in global logistics. Experience working with CRM systems and internal sales tools. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
