Job ID: 5581301 Application Deadline: Posted until filled | Posted: Mar 11, 2026 4:00 AM (UTC) | Starting Date: Aug 24, 2026 Job Description TITLE: Varsity Cheerleading Coach TYPE OF POSITION: Part-time; Fall sports season; stipend commensurate with experience (range $3,869-$5,804) LOCATION: High School, Hopkinton, Massachusetts AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All qualified candidates NOTE: Payment of the stipend may be contingent upon the athletic season being officially held, and for a partial season may be prorated. The Varsity Cheerleading Assistant Coach works with student-athletes to teach the fundamentals of the sport, foster physical fitness, and continuous development of skills. The coach models exemplary behavior with teammates, opponents, spectators, and officials, supporting social, emotional, and physical growth and overall character development. The coach emphasizes continuous improvement, teamwork, diversity, sportsmanship, pride, and work ethic, while providing a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience. The coach reports to the Athletic Director and the Varsity Cheerleading Coach. Qualifications MIAA Coaching certificate if first serving as an interscholastic coach after July 1, 2005; Bachelor’s degree in related field and previous relevant coaching experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience; Knowledge of MIAA rules governing athletic activities; Ability to motivate student athletes, communicate clearly and effectively, and relate to and work with students of differing athletic abilities; Commitment to remain current in knowledge of the sport and its coaching strategies; Other alternatives as deemed appropriate by the Athletic Director. Duties Supervise and conduct practice and coaching sessions; teach sports techniques, playing rules, strategies, and playing tactics; impart love of the sport and develop healthy self‑image and confidence; Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility; Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team; Supervise and provide coaching during matches, meets, contests; Observe basic safety guidelines and respond to player injuries with approved first aid; Manage uniforms, equipment, and school facilities responsibly; Assist Varsity Coach as needed; Other duties as assigned.
