Overview The University Of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Big Data Science in Public Health in the Department of Healthcare Administration & Policy in the School of Public Health. This is a full-time, tenure-track position as part of an interdisciplinary cluster hire. A multidisciplinary background with strong research experience in data-focused technologies is desired. Responsibilities Contribute to and expand big data and informatics research within the School of Public Health, advancing multidisciplinary approaches to healthcare and public health challenges. Demonstrate an interdisciplinary research record that integrates multiple technologies and analytical methodologies. Apply information technology, data analytics, and emerging digital health technologies in healthcare and public health settings. Experience with big data frameworks for AI-driven solutions (including deep learning and natural language processing) is a significant asset. Collaborate with faculty across SPH and other units, supporting interdisciplinary research in health-related big data topics; engage with campus-wide units as appropriate. Publish research, seek extramural funding, participate in professional associations, and serve on department, college, and university committees. Minimum Qualifications PhD from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or CHEA. Experience or strong foundation in healthcare, Medicaid/Medicare, health disparities, public health data, or related fields is encouraged. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with big data tools, ETL processes, machine learning programs, or cloud platforms.
