Direct Counsel is partnering with a highly respected, full-service business law firm seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney (5th–8th Year) to join its growing Real Estate Practice Group in Nashville. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced transactional attorney looking to work on sophisticated commercial real estate matters alongside a collaborative and nationally recognized team.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling commercial real estate transactions from letter of intent through closing, including drafting key transactional documents, reviewing title and survey matters, and managing complex deals involving institutional and middle-market clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, and related transactional documents.
Manage real estate transactions from LOI through closing.
Prepare title objection letters, closing documents, and ancillary transaction materials.
Review title commitments, recorded instruments, surveys, and other due diligence materials.
Oversee and collaborate with paralegals on title and survey review processes.
Coordinate with clients, lenders, title companies, and opposing counsel to ensure efficient transaction management.
Provide strategic advice regarding acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and development matters.
J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
Active Tennessee Bar membership and good standing.
5–8 years of recent commercial real estate transactional experience.
Demonstrated experience drafting:
Purchase and Sale Agreements (PSAs)
Commercial leases
Title objection letters
Closing documents
Strong knowledge of title commitments, recorded documents, and survey review.
Excellent written, analytical, negotiation, and client communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Collaborative mindset with strong attention to detail and client service.
The firm's Real Estate Practice Group represents lenders, national and regional financial institutions, opportunity funds, developers, investors, and borrowers in connection with a broad range of sophisticated transactions, including:
Commercial real estate financings
Construction loans
Equity investments
Syndicated credit facilities
Portfolio transactions
Tax credit matters
Municipal finance projects
Attorneys work on a wide variety of asset classes, including:
Office developments
Hospitality and hotel projects
Multifamily communities
Industrial properties
The team also advises purchasers and sellers in acquisitions and dispositions, as well as landlords and tenants in complex commercial leasing matters. Clients range from national institutions to entrepreneurial and middle-market businesses that value practical, high-quality, and cost-effective legal counsel.
