Structured Development Worker Swansea – Central Support To provide targeted, evidence-informed support to childcare, education and play providers in Swansea, helping them to develop as robust, sustainable businesses and charitable organisations, address key outputs in line with Swansea's Childcare Sufficiency Action Plan meeting the SLA with this LA held by Early Years Wales. Main Duties To help Early Years Wales member settings maintain existing provision and support their business needs. To support Early Years Wales members who seek to set up new provision and/or to expand their provision to increase the number of pre-school places within the county in areas identified. Support member settings in maintaining or gaining CIW registration, ESTYN or Early Years Wales QfA standards as appropriate. Encourage all member settings to maintain or extend their use of the Welsh language. Encourage all settings to maintain and improve the quality of their provision. Updating all settings as to changes to policies and procedures and disseminating good practice. Provide support to members via various methods. Maintain an up-to-date and accurate log of guidance given and complete checklists & action plans (as required) Liaise with Line Manager to support with and promote networking events for members e.g. regional forums, training events as and when needed Maintain up to date knowledge and working best practice of CIW requirements plus others relevant to the post Experience Essential: Level 3 Qualification or above in CCPLD (Children’s Care, Play and Learning Development) or an equivalent relevant qualification as listed on the Social Care Wales Framework Recent experience of working or volunteering in the early years and childcare & play sector Knowledge of CIW and all relevant government initiatives Desirable: Experience of running or supporting a childcare business Experience of working or volunteering in local community projects Experience of collating data and information Experience of working with other agencies Ability to speak Welsh Qualifications Essential: Relevant early years and childcare qualification, level 3 or above Location: Working from home Contract: Fixed term depending on funding Salary: £21,183.20 per annum (£26,014.57 FTE) Benefits: 23 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays, increasing on length of service. Contribution to company pension.
