PM HIP Production Engineer – Full-TimeLocation: Tennessee Industry: Advanced Manufacturing / Powder Metallurgy / Metals Schedule: Full-Time | On-sitePosition SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled PM HIP Production Engineer to support and optimize production processes involving Powder Metallurgy (PM) and Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) operations. This role focuses on improving manufacturing efficiency, ensuring product quality, supporting technical projects, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet production goals.Ideal candidates have hands-on engineering experience in metal processing, thermal operations, HIP systems, or precision manufacturing environments.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and optimize PM and HIP production processes to ensure high-quality outputDevelop, implement, and refine SOPs, work instructions, and process parametersSupport daily production activities through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actionsCollaborate with quality, maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to maintain production flowAnalyze data and prepare reports on production yields, process performance, and equipment efficiencyReview engineering drawings and ensure parts meet dimensional and metallurgical specificationsManage project timelines for process improvements, new product integration, and equipment upgradesProvide technical support for material testing, thermal cycles, dimensional analysis, and post-HIP processesUtilize lean manufacturing tools to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and maintain 5S standardsEnsure adherence to safety protocols and environmental guidelinesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field2–5+ years of experience in Powder Metallurgy, HIP processing, metals manufacturing, or similar thermal/mechanical operationsUnderstanding of metallurgy principles, densification, and material behavior under high temperature/pressureExperience reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and engineering specsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsProficiency with data analysis tools, SPC, or process control systemsAbility to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced production environmentPreferred Skills (Not Required)Experience with HIP equipment (e.g., Quintus, American Isostatic Presses)CAD/CAM knowledge (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360)Familiarity with advanced materials (superalloys, titanium, tool steels, additive-manufactured parts)Lean/Six Sigma certification or trainingExperience with MRP/ERP systemsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience and industry standardsFull health, dental, and vision benefitsPaid time off and holiday schedule401(k) or retirement plan optionsProfessional development and advancement opportunitiesWork within a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing environment
