RESPONSIBILITIES

\n

\n
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring excellence in strategy, execution and results across every engagement
\n
• Set the strategic vision for, and guide the development, presentation and execution of, integrated strategic communications plans across earned, owned, paid and digital channels
\n
• Serve as a trusted senior advisor to client executives, providing high-level counsel on reputation, issues and crisis management, and creative recommendations that contribute to ROI and distinguish CURA Strategies as an indispensable partner
\n
• Oversee external communications initiatives, campaigns and materials that reach health care stakeholders such as third-party organizations, health care professionals, media, patients, policymakers, etc.
\n
• Set the standard for high-quality, error-free written and digital materials and provide final senior review of key client deliverables
\n
• Cultivate and maintain executive-level client relationships across the portfolio to develop a 360-degree understanding of each client’s business, policy and stakeholder environment
\n
• Drive organic growth across the portfolio by identifying new opportunities and leading all initiatives required to secure additional contracts
\n
• Lead new business development for the firm, including identifying prospects, shaping pitch strategy, leading pitch teams and presenting to prospective clients
\n
• Hold P&L accountability for the portfolio, overseeing budgets, forecasting and staffing plans to ensure profitability and the financial health of each account
\n
• Lead, mentor and develop multiple account teams, including vice presidents and directors; oversee quality control, workflow and assignments across the portfolio
\n
• Serve as a leader in talent development program Forward U and help recruit, develop and retain top talent
\n
• Partner with agency leadership on firm strategy, service offerings, thought leadership and operational priorities
\n
• Champion and model the CURA culture, including leading and participating in cultural and team building activities

QUALIFICATIONS

\n

\n
• 12+ years of health care communications and public affairs experience, including significant agency experience in senior leadership roles
\n
• Proven track record of leading strategic communications programs for both nonprofit and corporate clients, with deep knowledge of the health care landscape
\n
• Deep understanding of how corporate communications, marketing, policy and government relations work together to advance reputation and business objectives
\n
• Extensive media relations and social media experience, with established relationships among health care and policy reporters. Paid media and digital strategy experience a plus.
\n
• Demonstrated success in new business development, including leading pitches and winning new clients
\n
• Experience managing a multi-account portfolio with P&L responsibility, ensuring profitability and financial health
\n
• Seasoned people leader who has built, managed and developed high-performing teams, including managers of managers
\n
• Experienced counselor to senior executives on issues and crisis management; a calm, decisive leader in high-pressure situations who can rally the team to the highest level of performance
\n
