Facility Assistant

Employment/FLSA Status: Part-time, non-exempt Salary: $16.27-20.34/hour Hours: To comply with child labor laws and our operational needs, expected work hours are as follows: Applicants Age 18+: Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30-10:30pm and every other Friday (4:30-8:30pm), every other Saturday (1:30-7pm) and every other Sunday (2-6:30pm) Applicants Age 16-17: Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30-9:15pm and every other Friday (4:30-6:15pm), every other Saturday (1:30pm-5:15pm) and every other Sunday (2-5:15pm). The Bartlett Public Library District is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time Facility Assistant. This position supports the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the library’s facilities by performing routine maintenance, custodial duties, and set-ups to ensure a welcoming environment for staff and patrons. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform custodial and other housekeeping duties, including but not limited to: cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, mopping, removing trash, replenishing supplies, and dusting. Maintain safe, clean, sanitary conditions throughout the building and grounds. Assist with snow and ice removal when necessary. Assist with preparations for special functions by arranging furniture, mounting decorations, and setting up equipment. Set up meeting rooms for Library programs. Report unusual conditions to management. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum age of 16. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. At least one (1) year of custodial experience is preferred.
