Effective January 1, 2013, all new classified managers will pay their own PERS. All of the following documents are required for this position: A completed EDJOIN classified management application. Letter of Introduction. Three current letters of reference signed and dated within the last three years. NO ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES ACCEPTED. Resume. Proof of education (transcripts or diploma) showing graduation date and copies of supplemental training or coursework.
Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of computer systems, including modern data management, storage, and retrieval systems; correct English usage, spelling grammar and punctuation; methods of letter and report writing; files and record management; secretarial and effective communication techniques. Ability to effectively perform complex secretarial and clerical activities which require knowledge of legal mandates, policies, regulations and operational procedures; prepare clear and comprehensive reports; interpret and apply policies, administrative regulations, and operational procedures; communicate effectively in oral and written form; understand and process oral and written directions; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others; process mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy; demonstrate independent judgment and action to meet changing circumstances and deadlines; work effectively with details under pressure and with frequent interruption; effectively handle a variety of situations requiring diplomacy, friendliness, poise, and firmness; take responsibility and use good judgment in recognizing scope of authority; maintain confidentiality of privileged information; operate computer systems; typing speed of 55 wpm; take dictation orally at an acceptable rate of speed and transcribe accurately. Education and Experience: Graduation from high school, supplemented by recent training or coursework in business office management, organization and supervision, or related technical skill areas; three years of progressively responsible secretarial experience Preferred Qualifications: Shorthand or speed writing; Ability to speak, read, and effectively communicate in Spanish.
