Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art Surgical Center in Gloversville, NY, where we handle a diverse range of pain management cases. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours a week, concluding each day at 5:00 PM. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, in a supportive and dynamic environment dedicated to improving patients' quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate health status and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Perform thorough physical examinations, and order necessary diagnostic tests to ensure effective patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Administer various injections, such as trigger points and joint injections, in adherence to all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Prescribe appropriate medications and devise effective pain management strategies, continually adjusting plans based on patient progress.
• Monitor patients’ progress meticulously and document changes in treatment plans to optimize care outcomes.
• Provide education to patients and their families on pain management techniques, treatment methodologies, and preventive practices.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex patient cases and share insights on improving care delivery.
• Oversee and manage patient health alongside other healthcare providers to ensure optimal health outcomes.
• Encourage and promote good health practices to enhance patients’ overall well-being.
• Advance your professional knowledge and contribute to research initiatives within the field.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will primarily work with patients experiencing chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to musculoskeletal disorders, neuropathic pain, and post-surgical pain management. Our patient population varies widely in demographics and backgrounds, which requires a compassionate approach to personalized care. Understanding the psychological and physical impacts of pain is crucial in helping patients regain their functionality and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Active New York State Physician Assistant license.
• Certified as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by a recognized board.
• Possession of a valid DEA and NPI number.
• Proven clinical experience in a healthcare setting such as a clinic or hospital is essential.

Preferred Experience

• Experience specifically in pain management or a related field is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of pertinent health regulations and patient care standards.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of USD 140,000 to 160,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition to a comprehensive compensation package, we provide a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.
