Bookkeeper
The Hire Mark is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established importer and wholesale distributor of consumer electronics, seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team in Los Angeles.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who can work independently, oversee an offshore accounting support team, and take ownership of the company's day-to-day financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping and daily accounting operations
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Desktop
- Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with month-end and year-end close
- Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger
- Manage inventory accounting and reconcile inventory transactions
- Coordinate with the company's outside CPA for tax preparation and year-end reporting
- Monitor cash flow and ensure timely vendor payments
- Supervise and coordinate an offshore bookkeeping/accounting support team
- Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Provide financial reporting and support to company leadership
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience required
- Expert-level QuickBooks Desktop experience is required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience managing or coordinating offshore accounting or bookkeeping staff
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred Experience
- Accounting experience within an importing, wholesale, distribution, or e-commerce business
- Inventory accounting experience
- Experience supporting multi-channel sales operations is highly desirable
