Job Title Field Service Engineer Assigned to Technical Department Responsibilities Perform equipment installations, commissioning, and system integration at customer sites Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) Provide on-site and remote technical support, troubleshooting, and customer training Assist customers during production start-up and process optimization Support the Technical Department with repair and assembly tasks when not traveling Deliver clear technical documentation, reports, and service notes Collaborate with colleagues in Germany and within the U.S. team for complex issues Maintain strong customer communication and ensure professional representation of ViscoTec Requirements Education requirements Associate degree or higher in a technical field or engineering. 2 to 4 years’ experience in mechatronics, automation, or electrical/mechanical service and commissioning preferred. Must have strong hands‑on technical and troubleshooting skills. Skills and personality traits Hands‑on, detail-oriented, and organized Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude Excellent communication and customer interaction skills Self‑starter who enjoys travel and working independently Flexible and professional in diverse environments Location Work Schedule The position involves a standard 40-hour workweek. Regular travel up to 50% within North America is required for installations, commissioning, and customer support.
