We strive to foster a positive and inclusive work environment that helps employees, and communities, thrive.Overview of PositionThe Integrated System Test team develops complex, large-scale electro-mechanical systems and brings them to market quickly, requiring agility across all New Product Introduction (NPI) team members.The Material Planning Manager is responsible for leading the planning team in balancing speed-to-market with production readiness. This role sets the direction for planning best practices, drives operational efficiency, and develops team capability and career growth.The planning team manages supply base strategy, material alignment and availability, production build planning, product change implementation, and transfer to contract manufacturingThe ideal candidate will have experience managing NPI planning teams or serving as a senior electro-mechanical product planner, with a strong background in supply chain, materials, and production planning.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead and develop a high-performing planning team, including coaching and career developmentEstablish and standardize best practices across NPI planning processesDrive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and scalabilityDefine global sourcing strategies in collaboration with suppliers and contract manufacturersOversee supplier engagement, including quotation management for prototype and production buildsDevelop strategies for transitioning planning responsibilities to contract manufacturing partnersEstablish guidelines for material planning, procurement, and inventory managementIdentify and resolve critical material shortages impacting new product introductionManage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), rework processes, and defective material strategiesEnsure successful execution of production builds, including work order releases, build progress tracking, and scrap and excess inventory managementCollaborate cross-functionally to support manufacturing readiness and executionDevelop lead time models and product lifecycle planning templatesRecommend risk-buy strategies and demand forecastsDrive data-based planning decisions to improve efficiency and reduce supply riskQualificationsBachelor’s degree required8+ years of experience working with electro-mechanical productsProven experience in supply chain, materials, and production planningAbility to operate in a fast-paced, agile environment while maintaining attention to detailStrong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills at all organizational levelsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independentlyExperience with MRP/ERP systems for planning and procurementAdvanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)Familiarity with presentation and database tools preferredStrong organizational and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to identify issues early and escalate appropriatelyDemonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and change management capabilityCollaborative, flexible team player with a results-oriented mindsetOccasional travel (~10%) to Asia-based contract manufacturersThis position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $117,200-$187,600. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set.
