Business Development Director (BDD) Franklin Templeton seeks a Business Development Director (BDD) for Defined Contribution Plans to drive growth in the defined contribution space, focusing on retirement‑focused advisors and clients in the Northeast region, specifically Boston, MA. Key Responsibilities Identify new business opportunities with retirement‑focused advisors and mid‑sized companies (100–500 employees) with defined contribution plans. Build and nurture relationships with key decision makers such as HR directors, CFOs, and benefits managers. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring retention and satisfaction. Develop and execute a comprehensive business‑development strategy for DC plans. Create tailored presentations and value propositions for retirement advisors. Present retirement‑plan solutions (401(k), 403(b), profit‑sharing, and other plans) to prospective clients. Prospect and close new business to meet or exceed sales targets. Provide consultative services on plan design, investment options, and participant‑engagement strategies. Track the sales pipeline, forecast revenue, and report progress to leadership. Monitor client satisfaction and retention metrics. Collaborate with internal teams—product managers, compliance, marketing, and client service—to refine strategy. Partner with leadership to refine the business‑development strategy. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field. 7+ years of business‑development, sales, or account‑management experience focused on defined contribution retirement plans. Proven track record of selling DC plan solutions (401(k), 403(b), profit‑sharing) to mid‑sized businesses. In‑depth knowledge of DC plan design, compliance, and investment strategies. Experience with TierII clients (100–500 employees) and their retirement‑plan needs. Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills to develop compelling proposals. Deep understanding of financial services, employee benefits, and retirement planning. FINRA Series7 and 63 licenses required. Willingness to travel for client engagement and business‑development efforts. Compensation The base salary for this position is expected to be $100,000. Compensation includes a discretionary bonus, a 401(k) plan, health insurance, and other perks.
