We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Instructor to join our team and support learners in achieving academic, behavioral, and career readiness success. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about inclusive practices, skilled in collaboration, and committed to preparing students with diverse learning needs for meaningful participation in both school and the skilled workforce.

- Bullard-Havens Technical High School in Bridgeport, CT
- Platt Technical High School in Milford, CT
We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Instructor to join our team and support learners in achieving academic, behavioral, and career readiness success. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about inclusive practices, skilled in collaboration, and committed to preparing students with diverse learning needs for meaningful participation in both school and the skilled workforce.
To be considered for this position, Special Education Instructors must possess an active State of Connecticut teaching certificate in one of the following areas:
- 065 Comprehensive Special Education, PK-12 or 165 Comprehensive Special Education, PreK-12 or 265 Comprehensive Special Education, 1-12
Position Highlights
- Schedule: first shift, full time (35 hours per week) Monday through Friday.
- Salary: VS01-VS02, derived from the State Vocational Federation of Teachers .
- Academic Calendar: CTECS follows a ten-month academic calendar (188 days per year.)
- Option to maintain State of Connecticut Teacher Retirement Plan or enroll in the State Employee Retirement System

- 4 years' experience in a high school setting (9-12 education)
- Trade career referral experience
- Professional experience related to special education.
- Experience with varied assessments to inform instruction and promote learning.
- Experience with fostering and facilitating learning, classroom management, and behavior intervention plans.
- Experience delivering ideas and objectives through oral and written communication
- Experience utilizing computer software such as Microsoft Office and Google Products.
