Regional Investment Banking (RIB) serves BMO Commercial Bank clients, bringing the full breadth of BMO Capital Markets’ investment banking products and services, while providing strategically coordinated guidance throughout the client’s life cycle.The RIB team provides dedicated and holistic investment banking coverage, coordinating seamlessly with our industry coverage and product partners to deliver integrated advisory and capital solutions to our Commercial Banking clients.The RIB VP is an industry/product generalist role, supporting the business development and execution efforts of the team nationally. The VPs’ primary responsibilities fall into four (4) general categories:Supporting senior calling officers in all regions on all marketing, pitch, and deal execution activities;Managing the day-to-day activities of the Analyst/Associate team in preparing marketing, pitch and execution materials, and providing mentorship, training and feedback to the Analysts/Associates to support their career development;Developing and cultivating internal relationships, primarily throughout Capital Markets and Commercial Banking, to facilitate seamless collaboration and delivery of best in class solutions to clients;Helping leverage, manage and develop data, technology and processes to support the growth and maximizing the efficiency of the RIB team.Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Operates as key member of the deal team, partnering with industry coverage and product partners, to seamlessly execute transactions on behalf of clients.Creates pitch books for clients with respect to financial solutions and participate in their presentation to clients.Monitors client, client industry, and regulatory agencies for potential changes that may affect client portfolio and business needs.Reviews and continually monitors performance of existing accounts and client relationships.Understands client needs and provides relevant ideas and opinions to generate recommendations.Collaborates with sector coverage partners for clients and prospects to identify / deliver creative, timely solutions.Maintains key ongoing coverage contact with clients and sector managers.Builds positive client relations through deep/comprehensive understanding of client needs and alignment of our products/services.Identifies and leverages key decision makers and influencers in client / internal organizations.Maintains awareness of all firm products and services offered and facilitates means of receiving continuous updates.Generates updated financial models/ analyses as dictated by business needs and industry requirements.Reviews and guides work of Analysts and Associates to deliver business results.Delivers financial modeling to support strategic recommendations to clients.Considers risk, internal controls and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adheres to policies and procedures.Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in investment banking if an Analyst to Associate promote, or a minimum of 3 years if a post-MBA Associate hire,o.Significant experience leading pitch development and deal executionFamiliarity with the full range of investment banking products, including but not limited to M&A advisory, debt capital markets and leveraged finance, and equity capital marketsAn undergraduate degree. Focal areas of finance, economics, or accounting preferred with high academic achievement.MBA, CFA or equivalent experience in financial services, accounting, or legal fields.Displays advanced deal execution and/or project management skills - ability to manage more than one client / major initiative.Demonstrates strong market knowledge to enable the comprehensive servicing of clients and the effective development of new solutions.Expertise in financial modeling and database management tools.Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.Collaboration & team skills - In-depth.Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth.Influence skills - In-depth.Data driven decision making - In-depth.Salary:Pay Type: SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
