Director of Operations

This is a rare opportunity to lead the operational engine behind one of the world's leading science fellowships. The Director of Operations will provide operational, financial, and systems leadership to enable Schmidt Science Fellows to deliver a global, high-impact program for the next generation of interdisciplinary science leaders. Working across finance, operations, IT, data and information management, HR coordination, and project management, this role will ensure the organization has the infrastructure, processes, and management information needed to deliver with excellence at a global scale. The postholder is expected to be a key partner to our programming, strategy, and functional leads, working collaboratively to enable effective, impactful delivery. This is an opportunity for someone with strong financial management and budgetary skills, an ability to bring organizational structure to a strategic vision, and an enthusiasm for operational delivery. The postholder will need to combine operational leadership with a committed, hands-on delivery ethos. The role reports to our Executive Director with significant task and project reporting to our Deputy Executive Director. The postholder will need to work closely with our Directors and Heads of Functions. The Director of Operations has line management responsibility for three colleagues in the US and UK.
